Topsail, North Carolina

My vacation is Topsail was amazing and I had such a great time.

This was the view from our beach house.

Mrs. Johnson made me '16 pancakes' for my birthday breakfast.

It was incredible staying on the ocean and being able to see cool things in the water such as porpoises and one day there was a battleship out there, they must have been doing something because they were there all day.  There were also tons of birds and lots of helicopters (there is a military base on the island) to see.

It was really beautiful on the island and I had a wonderful time with Isabel and her family.  I can't wait to go again next year!! :)

One belongs to New York instantly, one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years. -Tom Wolfe

My last day in New York, and I can't say I wanted to leave.

There was a bunch of skateboarders racing though the streets today, probably a little over 100 people just skating through the traffic.  It was really cool to see!

We ate at a small hole-in-the-wall burger joint (that's actually rather famous) it was so cool and the food was great.  It was tucked away in this fancy hotel down a hallway in the corner and the walls were covered in writing and posters and signatures of famous people.  It was very cool and I'm so glad we got to eat there!

We spent most of the rest of the day in Central Park, people aren't exaggerating when they say it's beautiful.

I got to meet my mom's friend Denise and we spent the day with her.  She was so nice and fun, I can see why my mom likes her so much!

My favorite part of Central Park was a small pond with motorized sail boats that were zooming around in it and it was so serene, my dad would have loved it.

There was a 'Central Park Skaters' event going on and it was such a blast to watch all of the skaters dance around and have fun, I think if I'm ever in New York over a weekend again I'd like to bring my skates and join them!

Plenty of street performers were out and about.  Some were incredible, like the young opera singer in the park, and some were just.. odd, to say the least.

We went in the FAO toy store and I got to see a life size Batman Lego creation!  That was awesome, because Batman is the best superhero ever.  There was also a huge piano that you play with your feet and there were huge candy bars of all kinds and so many other toy's I couldn't even begin to list them!

I had a wonderful time in New York City and I would go back anytime.  It's overwhelming at first but once you get used to the hustle and bustle you have time to really notice and appreciate the interesting sights and diverse crowds of people that are in this busy city.

New York on a Friday is Very Crowded but There are Endless Places to Explore.

Today my mom and I walked on the High-line in Chelsea.

The High-line is an old, out of commission, raised train track that was used for moving things from the shipping yards.  After it went out of use it was bought and turned into a public walking path and garden.

There are all sorts of sights to see.  You can see the skyscrapers across the harbor.

And in the distance there is the Empire State Building.  It was also neat to see the roof-top gardens like they talk about on HGTV.

There was all kinds of cool art on the sides of buildings.

Then after we ate dinner at a Thai restaurant, we went to a pet store and visited all of the adorable puppies.

New York is really growing on me, all the diversity and architecture, not to mention the neat little shops and the city view at night.  I think I actually kind of love it here.

Day Two in The City That Never Sleeps

This is a daytime view out of the hotel window.  It looks so different but I think it is still just as impressive.

This is what good traffic looks like for New York.

The Rockefeller building looks so cool lit up at night.

There was a huge Toys R' Us and there was a whole section dedicated to Candy Land which was my favorite board game when I was a kid so of course I was totally delighted.

The Chrysler building is really beautiful, at first I didn't really understand what the big deal was but seeing it lit up at night, it's rather spectacular.

My mom and I are having a great time in 'The Big Apple' and I'm so glad I get to be here with her.
(I had an apple for breakfast this morning and it wasn't very good at all.  I was rather disappointed seeing as the city is called The Big Apple.)

First Night in New York City

New York is a crazy crowded city and the traffic is.. well to say the least the traffic is frightening.  I can't say I'd ever want to live here but visiting is great!

T-mobile was having a concert in Bryant Park and there were pink lights everywhere so the trees looked very.. pink, in a cool way.

This is Grand Central Station, doesn't it look familiar from films and those youtube videos where they do the flash mobs and what not?

After walking around for a while my mom and I grabbed some delicious gelato,

in this little coffee shop that had book wallpaper on one wall, the ceiling and even the floor, coolest cafe ever if I do say so myself.

They had these adorable reminders at every crosswalk.

This is the infamous ball that drops in Time Square every New Year at 12:00 am.

This is Time Square from out of the window at a cool 'city view' restaurant/lounge area.

This is the totally amazing view from out our hotel window.
I'm having a great time and I can't wait to explore even more tomorrow!

This is just an extra photo for my grandma, it's a Mama Mia Bus!!
